Membership expansion bolsters expertise and voice of Ireland’s generic, biosimilar and value-added medicines

Medicines for Ireland (MFI) has today (26.05.26) announced the addition of ADVANZ PHARMA to the membership of the organisation. This expansion reinforces MFI’s commitment to strengthening the industry voice and delivering on its mission to champion sustainable healthcare solutions and advocate for policies prioritising patient access and affordability.

The announcement comes as MFI marks a major step forward in strengthening Ireland’s generic, biosimilar, and value added medicines sector with the recent commencement of a new Framework Agreement. The Agreement, developed in partnership with the Department of Health, the Department of Public Expenditure, and the HSE, sets out a comprehensive suite of measures designed to improve security of supply, enhance affordability, and create a more predictable and competitive market environment.

Commenting on the expansion, Chair of Medicines for Ireland, Donagh O’Leary said: “We are delighted to welcome ADVANZ PHARMA as members of Medicines for Ireland. As the sector enters a new phase under the recent Framework Agreement on the Pricing and Supply of Medicines, it is important that the association continues to deepen the expertise it represents. ADVANZ PHARMA’s addition will strengthen our collective engagement with Government and the HSE as we work to support implementation of the Agreement and ensure sustainable access to medicines for patients across Ireland.”
